Garfish watch project

We are introducing brand new page dedicated to Garfish watch project maintained by Xicorr Watches company.

This project started in in 2013. It was inspired by the diver, Darek Wilamowski. He is a big fan of our watches, especially Circle line. Limited Edition Garda was dedicated to his attempt to beat word record in diving.

Main assumptions for new project were:

  • big size
  • big water resistance factor
  • helium valve
  • rotating dive ring
  • great visibility in underwater environment
  • Circle design continuation

First issue was to establish the size. Circle was 42 millimetres. Garfish had to be bigger. More bigger. We have started with 48mm but finally we have decided for uncompromised 52mm.

Next challenge was combining 12 Circle screws with rotating bezel.

Most complicated were ears. The watch is big and have straight sides. Any shape not fit very well on hand. Finally we have decided for adaptor and now it has just perfect hand fit.

Last issue was the name. Originally we have worked with the name of anglerfish. But it was already used in dive watches world. Then we have decided to Garfish. There were 2 reasons. It lives in polish Baltic Sea add its slender shape is in totally opposite to the watch shape :-)

For now we are planning 3 colours for the project. Orange because it is natural for dive watches, light blue because it is colour of garfish's bones and dark grey/black because we like it.

Following combinations are planned.

  • orange dial with black hands
  • light blue dial with black hands
  • dark grey dial with orange hands
  • dark grey dial with light blue hands

Estimated timeline for the project is:

  • 1 quarter 2017 - newsletter
  • 2 quarter 2017 - pre-sale start
  • 4 quarter 2017 - watches delivery

Estimated price is 2600 polish zloty/635 euro/650 usd.
